The Vicksburg District of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded Contract labeled W912EE-12-C-0021 for levee improvements in East Carroll and Concordia Parishes, Louisiana.
The contract was awarded to Bickerstaff Brothers, Inc., of Batesville, Mississippi, in the amount of $464,000 and consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment for the construction.
The levee will be raised approximately one and a half feet to bring it up to current design standards. The areas of construction are located approximately 15 miles south of Vidalia, approximately 3 miles south of Transylvania and approximately 7 miles south of Transylvania, Louisiana.
