SapuraAcergy Secures Charter Deal for Sapura 3000 Vessel

Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad has announced that SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract for the charter of a vessel, Sapura 3000, to Construcciones Maritimas Mexicanas S.A. de C.V. SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd is a joint-venture company equally owned by SapuraKencana and Subsea 7 S.A.

Malaysia’s SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad has announced that SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd has been awarded a contract for the charter of a vessel, Sapura 3000, to Construcciones Maritimas Mexicanas S.A. de C.V.

SapuraAcergy Sdn Bhd is a joint-venture company equally owned by SapuraKencana and Subsea 7 S.A.

Under the contract Sapura 3000 will undertake heavy lifts in the Gulf of Mexico region. The charter commenced on 18 August 2012 for a duration of 125 days. The contract is valued at approximately USD45.0 million.

Sapura 3000 is a versatile vessel used for conventional and deepwater construction activities. This purpose-built combination vessel (pipelay and heavy lifting) is unique in its overall capabilities, with dynamic positioning in deep and shallow water and fully revolving mast crane capable of 3000ST lifts. Conventional S-Lay is used for shallow water, pipelay and steep S-Lay or J-Lay for deepwater pipelay and/or steel catenary riser installation in water depths of up to 2000m.
