TDW Offshore Services (TDW) announced that it has signed an extended framework agreement with Statoil Petroleum AS to provide pipeline pressure isolation services and equipment for Statoil installations located in the Norwegian North Sea.

The agreement specifies that TDW will continue to supply pipeline pressure isolation services for 8-inch to 48-inch pipelines with its remotely-operated SmartPlug® pipeline pressure isolation tool. Several isolation operations to facilitate scheduled maintenance are set to take place this year.

Celebrating 10 years of service

TDW has been providing pressure isolation services since August 2002, when it entered into an initial two‐year agreement with Statoil. Since then, Statoil has exercised every option to extend its relationship with TDW.

“It is rewarding to see that Statoil continues to put its faith in TDW by awarding this extremely important contract to us, ” said Larry Ryan, Director of Operations for TDW Offshore Services. “ This agreement builds on the relationship and experience that we have gained in the past 10 years with Statoil. This cooperative approach has helped us respond to Statoil’s needs. I look forward to continuing to grow this relationship for the future.”

“Since TDW began providing pressure isolation services, Statoil has had the benefit of working with specialists within their field, utilizing professional and cost-effective equipment,” said Jan Olav Berge, PRS Pool Manager for Statoil. “ We are confident that TDW will continue to supply us with professional, effective service, and we look forward to working with them,” he added.

During recent years, TDW has isolated several key pipelines for Statoil. These pipelines and associated facilities form part of a critical hub in Norway’s network of submarine gas trunklines and play a key role in Norway’s gas transport system to continental Europe. During the past 10 years, TDW has carried out more than 30 pipeline isolations for Statoil.

The three-year agreement, which features two two-year options to renew, is being supported by TDW from its Center of Excellence for offshore in Stavanger, Norway.
