Robert Kleiburg, Chief Operating Officer of the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) will give a key note speech on the importance of natural gas in energy transition on 23 October as part of the official opening of Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference.

In a recent article published by ECN, Robert Kleiburg argues that the transition to a sustainable energy mix is good, not bad, for a gas producing and innovative country like The Netherlands. Key note speaker Robert Kleiburg is a seasoned energy professional. Before joining ECN as COO Kleiburg spent 19 years with Shell in several roles in gas, power, renewable energy and climate policy.

The official opening of Offshore Energy is led by Joep Athmer, Director, Van Oord Offshore. The event will take place on 23 October from 09.30 tot 10.00 hours in the Park Foyer in Amsterdam RAI. At 10.00 hours the exhibition will open its doors and the conference will kick off. Exhibitors, conference delegates, press and other invitees are welcome to join the official opening.

Directly after the official opening the first ever Offshore Energy Industry Panel will take place.
