On October 2, 2012 FSUE “Rosmorport” General Director A. Lavrishchev took part in the solemn ceremony of putting into operation of a sea automobile ferry terminal in the seaport of Olya.

The sea automobile ferry terminal with estimated capacity of 1,3 million tons includes berths №4, №5 and №5А, and is designed for processing of rolling, general, and automobile-ferry cargo, above all, export and import, as the terminal is equipped with a contemporary state border checkpoint of the Russian Federation.

The events program for opening of the sea terminal, where the head of Rosmorrechflot A. Davydenko and his companions took part, included a solemn meeting at the sea terminal, awarding of employees who distinguished themselves during construction works, inspection of the border checkpoint, and introduction of technology of transit of cars across the state border of the Russian Federation. A test roll-up of cargo cars to the Kompozitor Rakhmaninov sea ferry was performed.

After the end of the solemn events A. Lavrishchev took part in a working meeting leaded by the head of Rosmorrechflot A. Davydenko, where representatives of Astrakhan Region and Limansky District Administrations, state authorities, and companies operating in the seaport took part. The participants of the meeting discissed programs of development of sea terminals in Astrakhan Seaport, and prospects of Olya Seaport in general, issues of reconstruction of the Volga-Caspian sea navigation canal, and icebreaking provision of the forthcoming winter navigation of 2012-2013.
