Jes International Holdings Limited, a shipbuilding group based in China has received an order to build a UT 755 LN design Platform Supply Vessel.
The order comes from an unnamed Norwegian client, and represents the first PSV order in Jes International’s 30 year long history.
“As the shipping industry remains in the doldrums, it is part of the Group’s strategy to maximise, enhance, and leverage on our capabilities to explore growth opportunities beyond the commercial shipbuilding industry into the more robust offshore oil and gas sector to enhance shareholders’ value,” said Jin Xin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, JES.
Delivery of the vessel is expected to take place at the end of 2014. The company did not disclose the value of the order.
