Chairman of the UK Government’s Offshore Wind Cost Reduction Task Force, Andrew Jamieson, said that he expects the costs of offshore renewable energy to drop over 30% by 2020, thanks to increased collaboration between companies.

Mr. Jamieson will be speaking at the Scottish Low Carbon Investment Conference on Wednesday in Edinburgh, with the main focus on the benefits of teamwork when it comes to offshore wind, the Scotsman says.

He pointed out that improving the dialogue between the companies and the UK Government can make the national industry more competitive, which will be even more motivated by the establishment of the Offshore Wind Programme Board later this year.
