On October 11, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev met with Statoil delegation led by executive vice presidents Lars Christian Bacher and Eldar Saetre.
Welcoming the guests, Abdullayev emphasized that SOCAR and Statoil have a longstanding successful cooperation. Talking about the energy projects carried out in the country, SOCAR President said Azerbaijan supported South Corridor project that considers transportation of Caspian natural gas to Europe and Azerbaijani experts review all possible routes within the framework of extension of diversification opportunities. He informed the guests about the work on phases I and II of Shah Deniz field exploration.
Statoil executive vice president Lars Christian Bacher said Statoil continues its activity in Azerbaijan in high level and expressed confidence in successful development of joint oil and gas projects and Azerbaijan’s further contribution to supply of hydrocarbon resources to European consumers.
