Seadrill has entered into a Heads of Agreement (“HoA”) with Songa Offshore SE for a potential purchase of the ultra deepwater semi-submersible rig “Songa Eclipse” .
The HoA has certain subjects, hereunder board approval from Seadrill and Songa. A key element in the HoA is that Seadrill is granted exclusivity up to 15 November 2012 to carry out a due diligence of all adequate issues related to the “Songa Eclipse”.
The SONGA ECLIPSE is a F&G ExD design DP-2 semi, capable of operating in water depths up to 10,000 feet (outfitted for 7,500 feet) using a 18-3/4″ 15 ksi BOP and 21″ OD riser.
