Today Joep Athmer, the Director of Van Oord Offshore and Member of Offshore Energy Committee of Recommendation wished a warm welcome to the visitors of the Offshore Energy Conference and Exhibition 2012 on behalf of Navingo.

The exhibition is being held in Amsterdam RAI for the second time in a row on a 12,000 m2 exhibition space and welcomes around 6,500 dedicated and driven offshore professionals from over 30 nationalities.

Mr. Athmer wished a special welcome to distinguished guests, namely the Ambassador of Mexico, Ambassador of Iraq, Pemex Delegation from Mexico and also many other international and national visitors.

Robert Kleiburg, Chief Operating Officer at Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands delivered a key note speech on Energy Transition – Business Opportunities in Offshore Energy.

While speaking on the ambitions the European Union has set for the 2050 he said that it will be very challenging to attain those goals, however natural gas is likely to play an important role in the energy transition. What is more, when it comes to business opportunities there is a great potential in renewable energy technologies, especially in the offshore sector.
