Offshore Technology Days in Bergen, being a leading exhibition and conference in Norway, was a great success for Offshore Center Danmark and Enterprise Europe Network.
More than 360 exhibitors and near by 24,400 delegates were present at the OTD exhibition in Bergen on October 15th-18th 2012.
A 3-days’ visit to OTD was organized for Danish companies approaching the offshore market in Norway. Offshore Center Danmark and Enterprise Europe Network were facilitating conferences, company visits and participation in B2B-meetings as side-events to OTD.
The activity level in Norway is high in all aspects of the oil & gas sector, and energy companies as Statoil are also involved in starting up offshore wind farms. So business opportunities are developing for the Danish offshore sector, says Jens Bollerup, Project Coordinator Internationalization by Offshore Center Danmark.
The Danish companies were visiting base facilities in Bergen as well as meeting up with Innovation Norway represented by Senior Advisor Rita Brokstad. Innovation Norway is most well known outside Norway for financial support to development of new companies, being financed by the Norwegian Oilfoundation. Hereby Innovation Norway is the most important instrument for innovation and development of Norwegian enterprises and industry in Norway and on international markets.
Interesting cluster organizations to meet were also Maritim Clean Tech West represented by Hege Økland and the subsea focused cluster organization NCE Subsea represented by Jon O. Hellevang. The clean tech technologies as well as the entire business for subsea installations are interesting, providing future business activities and development. For Denmark the opportunities are also of interest in terms of transferring knowhow to Greenland as a part of the arctic region, for the ongoing seismic and future oil & gas activities.
