Mobimar’s most recent archipelago service vessel left her outfitting quay in Turku. The sea trials had been approved by the classification and the new owner.

The final approval was quite easy for all parties to sign as all the requirements were fulfilled. For instance the requested speed 30 knots with just 80% MCR was clearly exceeded in the salty waters of Norway. In the latest official test run the top speed was +35 knots with the crew of two and the fuel tanks full up!

The transit from Turku, Finland to the south coast of Norway was 740 nautical miles and the target was to arrive at Nøtterøy. The experienced crew succeeded in maintaining the average speed between 25 and 27 knots during the whole passage.

Later, during the handover session, the owner representatives seemed very pleased with their newbuilding. Encouraged by this project Mobimar puts effort on further discussions within the Norwegian market.
