AVEVA announced today, November 5, that Synergy Engineering, a leading Engineering Consultant based in South East Asia, has successfully executed a brownfield modification project using AVEVA Laser Modeller.

A true as-built model of the facility was not available, as a result of significant modifications made over a number of years. The use of laser scanning to facilitate the generation of an intelligent PDMS model means that Synergy now has an accurate project model. Its use of AVEVA Laser Modeller has dramatically reduced the time and cost usually associated with such projects.

“The creation of intelligent shapes and objects within the AVEVA Laser Modeller environment was easy to learn and simple to use, ” said Arief Susanto, Director, Synergy Engineering. “The Laser Modeller catalogue / specification import and export facilities were second to none. It worked as it should, with no issues and offered administrative time savings. Synergy Engineering, after its successful completion of the project, firmly believes that AVEVA Laser Modeller will help us to prioritise technical competence and focus on delivering services to meet our client’s expectations, with the tools reducing menial and laborious site verification work. AVEVA Laser Modeller is the long-awaited solution for this problem.”

“Synergy Engineering is an excellent reference on how AVEVA Laser Modeller makes brownfield information truly evergreen”, added Bruce Douglas, Senior Vice-President, EDS Strategy & Marketing, AVEVA. “They are using laser scan data to create validated and intelligent as-built 3D PDMS models, rapidly and at low cost. The time savings they are achieving are in line with what other customers are achieving on brownfield projects. AVEVA Laser Modeller changes the ground rules of laser scanning by automating aspects of the modelling process, enabling a fully intelligent 3D model to be produced in a fraction of the time and cost previously required. AVEVA will continue to lead the way in as-built data capture by innovating and bringing more laser software to the market.”
