Scana Propulsion Scores New Contracts in USA, Norway

Scana Industrier ASA has through its subsidiary Scana Propulsion AS, won new contracts with a total value of NOK 33 million.

Scana Propulsion has signed a contract with BAE Systems Southeast Shipyards in Mobile Alabama, USA. The contract includes delivery of gear and propeller systems with remote control for two platform supply vessels for GulfMark Offshore in the United States. Deliveries will take place in third quarter 2013. The contract includes options for two additional vessels.

Each propulsion system consists of two gears and propellers in a hybrid system.

The vessels are of the type DP2 Green Design from MMC Ship Design & Marine Consulting Ltd in Poland. Scana Propulsion Inc. in Mandeville, USA, has been heavily involved in the project phase and will follow up the contract and take care of the installation and commissioning work at the shipyard in the United States.

Also, Scana Propulsion has signed a contract with the Havyard Group for delivery of a gear and propeller system for a Live Fish Carrier from Havyard Design for Fosnavåg Shipping, Norway. Delivery will take place in third quarter 2013. The contract includes an option for one additional vessel.

A third contract has been signed with Niigata Power for delivery of a gear and propeller system for a fishing vessel designed by Skipskompetanse AS in Måløy, Norway. The vessel will be built in Taiwan and the propulsion system is to be delivered in the second quarter of 2013.
