Volstad Maritime in Ålesund, Norway has taken delivery of their latest OCV vessel “Grand Canyon” . The vessel is built by Bergen Group at Fosen in Rissa, Trondheim and will go on a long term charter for Helix (Canyon).
“Grand Canyon” is of ST-259, a offshore construction vessel design developed by Skipsteknisk. Volstad Maritime has two more options of this design with Bergen Group.
“Grand Canyon” has main dimensions 128 x 25m, and is fitted with one 250t AHC offshore crane, ROV hangars, moon pool, helicopter deck and an accommodation suitable for 105 persons.
The naming ceremony took place in Aberdeen last week of October 2012, but before that the lady visited her home town Ålesund, enabling invited guests to spectate the beauty.
We congratulate Volstad Maritime with the new vessel, which is the seventh ST-design for this company, and hope she will meet their expectations and contribute to profitable business for the company for many years to come.
