Jiangsu Hantong Shipyard (HTS) named and delivered the last 57.000 DWT bulk carrier which was built for CONTI, on November 8th 2012. The vessel, named POS AZURIT and classed by LR, is a new type of supramax bulker optimised to burn less fuel oil.

The efficiency improvements have been achieved by carrying out a number of changes including: derating the main engine, a new propeller design which has been optimised for the derated engine, and fitting a mewis duct. The shipyard accomplished various testing programs for the vessel, meeting all the requirements of ship owners and the class.
