Despite talks of capacity overload and poor market conditions, new ship orders are still coming in.

Following in the footsteps of JO Tankers that placed an order of two Stainless Steel Chemical Tankers with Nantong Mingde Heavy Industry last week, an Italian shipping group Grimaldi also decided to add new units to its orderbook, according to Fearnleys Weekly report.

Grimaldi Group has ordered five ConRo units from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. The delivery is planned for 2015. Grimaldi Group is a returning client of the shipyard in question.

Recently, Grimaldi Group received two new units into its fleet, “Eurocargo Catania” and “Eurocargo Brindisi”, and deployed them on a new route between the Italian ports of Ravenna, Brindisi and Catania.
