Jinhai Heavy Industry has signed a contract for construction of a self-elevating offshore jack-up rig featuring 90-meter-long folding legs, thus paving the way for the company’s entrance to marine products market.

In recent years, Jinhai Heavy Industry strengthened its technical reserves to set up several project teams for high added-value products including marine engineering, LNG, LPG and semi-submerged ships, etc, preparing for the transition to high added-value products market. The aforementioned jack-up rig is a type of self-elevating platform intended for assisting navigation in offshore oilfields, providing offshore well repairing and construction services for marine engineering, equipped with accommodation quarter and other functional areas. This type of jack-up rig has square hull with four 90-meter-long legs, 78.8 meters of overall length, 63.6 meters of molded length, and 40 meters of molded depth and 5.8 meters of molded depth.

Jinhai Heavy Industry has been actively expanding the field of its new products for a long time. The success of the order deal is of great strategic significance for the company to plunge into marine market and early achieve the market transition.
