d’Amico International Shipping S.A., based in Italy, plans to order two 40,000 DWT eco design product carriers from South Korea, Shipping Herald reports.

It seems that d’Amico plans to exercise an option for two more product carriers with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) after the company ordered vessels of the same type in July and September.

The eco design product carriers will be of a shallow-draft type and with a very high fuel efficiency feature.

Reportedly, d’Amico is raising funds to finance the newbuildings.
