Costa Fascinosa, the new flagship of Costa Cruises, was delivered to the cruise line on Saturday, May 5, by shipbuilder Fincantieri in Venice, Italy. Officially handed over at the Venice Passenger Terminal, Costa Fascinosa — with sister ship Costa Favolosa — is the largest Italian-flagged cruise ship afloat.
World’s Biggest Salvage Operation: Costa Concordia Refloating
The announced salvage operation of capsized Costa Concordia cruise ship is in the full swing. An American-owned specialist marine salvage and wreck removal company Titan Salvage alongside with Italian firm Micoperi have been awarded a Costa Concordia wreck removal contract in April. Together they presented a plan to refloat and tow away the cruise ship to one of the Italian ports where she will likely be scrapped.
