Rumor has it that one of Chinese biggest integrated logistics service supplier Sinotrans CSC is in talks with China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) on a deal comprising construction of 10 supramax bulkers, SinoShip News reports.
The order includes four 64,000dwt bulkers with two optional ones at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard followed by construction of four (2+2) 64,000dwt bulkers at CSSC Huangpu Shipyard.
The fact that Sinotrans CSC opted to hire CSSC for the previously announced fleet enlargement gig is said to be connected to a potential 17% tax rebate at the shipyard enabled by the government.
Sinotrans CSC is a large-scale modern corporate group with world-wide businesses in integrated logistics, shipping and shipbuilding industry.
