Taiwan: Container Vessel YM Upsurgence Named and Delivered

YM Upsurgence, an 8,626 TEU full-container vessel built for Yang Ming by CSBC CORP., TAIWAN, was delivered and named at a ceremony held at CSBC Kaohsiung Shipyard on December 20, 2012.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Frank Lu, Chairman of Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp., and Mr. Robert Lai, Chairperson of CSBC CORP., TAIWAN. Mrs. Li Bi-Zhu, wife of the Chairman of Kenda Industrial Co. Ltd, was invited to sponsor the new ship.

YM Upsurgence has adopted the advanced designs of environmental protection to enhance her green competitiveness and marine-protection reputation. Moreover, the new ship features fuel-saving and high capacity. While upgrading its fleet, Yang Ming keeps contributing to environmental protection accommodating customers’ demands and providing ever better service. Yang Ming has never ceased to improve its customer service as well as its effort of environmental sustainable development. YM Upsurgence is to be deployed in the MD2 Service (Asia–Mediterranean Sea).
