Eisa shipyard has successfully delivered its biggest vessel ever, an 80.100 DWT bulk carrier named Log-In Tambaqui to Log-In Logistica of Brazil. The vessel is the first out of two 80.100 DWT bulk carriers ordered by Log-In invests, with the second one scheduled for delivery at the end of 2013.
Log-In Tambaqui comes as a part of Log-In Logistica’s bold investment plan which was initiated in November 2007 and budgeted at around R$ 1 billion (approx $ 490 mln), for the construction of 5 container ships and 2 bulk carriers. The investment plan is funded by the Merchant Marine Fund, with the Brazilian National Social and Economic Development Bank (BNDES) as the financial agent.
When all vessels under construction become operative, which is expected to take place in mid-2014, the fleet capacity will be increased by about 70%.
