Hyundai Samho, Hyundai Heavy’s affiliate, has been awarded a contract to build four supertankers for ship investment company HI Gold Ocean, Seatrade Asia reports.
Namely, the ordered vessels are 320,000 dwt Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) which will be assigned to Hyundai Glovis on a long time charter contract after delivery in 2014.
The VLCC newbuildings’ price, estimated by shipbrokers, is around USD 100 million per unit.
