China Shipping Group (CSG) and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) are close to order eight LNG tankers in China for Sinopec.

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding will most likely win the order, while other Chinese shipyards like Dalian Shipbuilding Industry or Nantong Cosco KHI Shipbuilding Engineering may build two of the LNG tankers, according to several media reports.

The LNG tankers will be used to ship cargoes from the Australia Pacific LNG project, a joint venture between three companies – Origin (37.5%), ConocoPhillips (37.5%) and Sinopec (25%).
