Kotug performed a special rig move in the 1st Werkharbour, Rotterdam. At the Keppel Verolme Shipyard four KOTUG Rotortugs turned the jack-up rig “Prime Exerter” on behalf of Dutch Offshore Contractors.
The rig was placed on the combined barges ARK 13, 14 and 15 (50 meters wide, 90 meters long). The barges were transported from the Waalhaven to the 1st Werkhaven by KOTUG’s SD Rover.
On Friday 25th of January, “RT Magic”, “RT Leader”, “RT Champion” and Hybrid tug “RT Adriaan” shifted the approximately 10,000 tonnes weighing structure. In the very conveined space that was available, it was a real Rotortug job! Also because of the little freeboard of the barges, the Rotortugs have done a good job in pushing and pulling.
