The United Shipbuilding Corporation of Russia is to build at least four Arctic-class LNG tankers for the Pechora LNG project in northern Russia, RIA Novosti reported, citing Alltech president Dmitry Bosov as saying.
“ We are in talks with Russia’s United Shipbuilding Corporation and we have signed several preliminary agreements on the issue ,” he said.
“ We are talking about four ships with a deadweight of about 170,000 tons each ,” Bosov said.
He also said that the Pechora LNG plant will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2018 if the design phase goes ahead in the first quarter of 2013.
Pechora LNG is a scale project assuming development of two fields in Nenets autonomous region: Kumzhinskoye and Korovinskoye.
Cumulative reserves of these fields are 145 billion cubic meters of gas and 3.9 million tones of condensate according to the Russian classification.
Pechora LNG foresees construction of gas transportation infrastructure, central processing facilities as well as natural gas liquefaction plant.
The Complex will provide processing of 4 billion cubic meters of dry gas and production of more than 2.6 million tons of LNG per year on the first phase.
