FTL Subsea are developing a mooring connector to provide simple and robust mooring line connection at the seabed.

The following video shows a flythough animation of the Flintstone Subsea Mooring Connector.

The product incorporates five key features required by customers:

– Simple double shear load path with full diameter pin contact

– Top entry installation

– Self –alignment for main load pin

– Auto locking of the pin

– Simple ROV operation

The manufacturing partner Vulcan SFM (part of the Sheffield Forgemaster’s International Group) provides FTL Subsea with their metallurgical knowledge and a long history of supplying the oil and gas industry with critical load path components.

Vulcan benefit from having melting, forging, heat treatment and machining on a single site providing a level of quality control during manufacturing that is unsurpassed.
