Rapp’s Electrical ROV Winches for Technip’s “Deep Orient”

Rapp Hydema has delivered 2 ea. Electrical ROV Winches including all Electric Frequency controlled with PTS Pentagon, Active Heave Compensated Control System and 4 ea. Electric motors drive in parallel to Technip.

The equipment was installed on board Technip’s new subsea construction & flexible pipelay vessel ‘Deep Orient’, which was named on Tuesday, February 12 in Vigo, Spain.

Rapp’s new and advanced control system provides improved safe handling and manoeuvrability of ROV, Plough and Trencher cables and umbilicals.

The new ship will mobilize at Technip’s facility in Le Trait, France before undertaking her first projects in Norway.

The Rapp Marine Group organization is active in many countries. Presently the Group focuses on two major market areas which are key to the business: Fireproof doors and Winches. Winches and deck machinery are based at Rapp Hydema and Rapp Hydema Syd.
