Statoil to Use Borgland Dolphin for Drilling in PL 090C, Norway

Statoil Petroleum AS has received consent to use the Borgland Dolphin rig to drill well 35/11-R-14 BH which is part of production licence 090C in the Norwegian North Sea.

Water depth at the site is 368 metres.

The planned start-up is 23 April 2013, with an estimated duration of 124 days.

Borgland Dolphin is a semi-submersible Aker H-3 rig. It was built at Harland & Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1977 and underwent extensive upgrades in 1999. The rig is owned by Borgland Dolphin Pte Ltd and operated by Dolphin Drilling A/S.
