Tome Ferrostaal, a joint venture between Tome Engenharia and Ferrostaal in Brazil, has selected Intergraph(®) SmartMarine(®) Enterprise solutions, distributed by Sisgraph, as part of a project with Petrobras, one of the world’s largest energy companies.

Intergraph’s enterprise engineering software will be used to construct the topsides of six identical floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels, which will be built in Brazil.

Sisgraph, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has been a distributor of Intergraph solutions in South America for more than 30 years. Intergraph and Sisgraph are part of Hexagon.

Tome Ferrostaal will use these leading-edge Intergraph enterprise engineering solutions for the construction of the topsides: SmartMarine 3D, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant Review, CAESAR II(®) and PV Elite(®). In addition to the software, Sisgraph will provide training and on-site support for the project.

“By using the Intergraph technology solutions distributed by Sisgraph, we expect to boost productivity and project quality, and also to reduce project time and errors, especially by having on-site technical support,” said Sergio Miranda, automation systems coordinator at Tome Ferrostaal.

Gerhard Sallinger , Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said, “This is the first major offshore project for Tome Ferrostaal, and in choosing Intergraph as its technology provider, Tome Ferrostaal reinforces our leading position in the Brazilian offshore market. For this important project, Tome Ferrostaal recognizes the safety, quality and productivity benefits that our enterprise solutions offer.”

Intergraph’s SmartMarine Enterprise suite is the world’s most advanced, integrated offshore and shipbuilding solution, driving improvements in design efficiency, production schedule, handover, and overall life-cycle cost control for enhanced global competitiveness. Intergraph is a world leader in marine structure design and data management, with SmartMarine Enterprise endorsed and used by the world’s leading offshore and marine companies, including the most productive shipyard, the top offshore owner operator, the top fabrication yard, and the top classification society in the world. The ARC Advisory Group, a leading industry analyst firm, ranked Intergraph as the No. 1 overall worldwide provider of engineering design solutions for industry according to its “Engineering Design Tools for Industry and Infrastructure Worldwide Outlook Market Analysis and Forecast Through 2016.”
