Great Hale Fen residents and landowners are initiating a campaign against the construction of a substation for Triton Knoll offshore wind farm in their area, Sleaford Standard news site informs.

Residents say that they only recently found out about the proposal, which is in its final stages and will be built soon.

Concerns are raised over the impact that the substation will have on environment and landscape. Over the last ten years, local farmers have been working to restore the natural environment, during which three live badger sets, deer, bat and owl populations have moved into the area. They are now worried that will be lost when the work on the substation starts.

The public has time until April 5 to send the consultation form back to RWE Npower to register their issues with this substation site at Great Hale Fen. The residents fighting against it are calling on to people to register their disapproval until the deadline.
