South Korea: Hyundai Mipo Receives Order for 10 Tankers

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has secured one more important contract, this time for the construction of ten product /chemical tankers for an Marshall Islands-based owner. Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has secured one more important contract, this time for the construction of ten product /chemical tankers for an Marshall Islands-based owner. The contract worth approx $305.7 million was announced yesterday at the KRX.

The announcement did not disclose particulars of the ships or equipment to be used onboard except that the delivery of the vessels should be completed by October 2015.

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co, one of HHI’s subsidiaries, is a shipbuilder of medium-sized vessels such as product/chemical carriers, bulk carriers, container carriers, PCTCs, Con/Ro-Ro vessels, LPG carriers, General Cargo Carriers, Asphalt Carriers, offshore units and specialized vessels.
