Leading subsea equipment solutions specialist, Ashtead Technology, launched the subsea market’s smallest electric dredge pump this month at the Ocean Business 2013 exhibition in Southampton, UK.

The pump is available to rent exclusively from Ashtead Technology through an agreement with the manufacturer, Vortex International.

The electric pump is targeted at the 2½” to 3” dredge market and specifically towards small electric ROVs. This is a rapidly developing market, with increasing demands for innovative tooling to enhance the capabilities of small and efficient electric ROVs.

The pump can be easily customised to meet complex customer needs and differing on board power supplies. The dredge motor has been fitted with an industry standard six pin Burton plug and can be connected to different types of ROV electrical boxes through a simple, custom made power cable.
