Peru LNG shipped a cargo of liquefied natural gas to Mexico on May 5, according to PeruPetro S.A.
The cargo is being hauled by the 173,400 cubic-meter Sevilla Knutsen, operated by Knutsen OAS Shipping, and it is due to arrive at the Manzanillo terminal on May 10.
The 500,000 Mc/d import terminal, built and owned by a consortium of Samsung and Mitsui, each with a stake of 37.5%, and Kogas with 25%, is the third of its type in Mexico.
Repsol, which holds a 20% stake in the Peru LNG project, has an LNG supply contract with the Federal Commission of Electricity, Mexico for the terminal at Puerto de Manzanillo, on the Mexican Pacific coast.
This contract is for the supply of LNG to the Mexican plant for a period of 15 years and with a volume of at least 67 bcm.
