Tidal Lagoon Power Limited is considering construction of a second lagoon in Colwyn Bay, HydroWorld reports.

Tidal Lagoon is now determining the economic viability and environmental feasibility of the 1 GW project.

According to Tidal Lagoon Power CEO Mark Shorrock, the tidal lagoons projects would be a great opportunity for Wales to lead tidal power development in UK.

Lagoons would consist of a ring-like harbor structure whose walls would be dotted with bi-directional tidal turbines which would be used to generate power.
