Black & Veatch has completed and successfully commissioned the Boil-off Gas reliquefaction project at the site of Sempra Energy’s Cameron LNG’s receipt terminal in Hackberry, La.
The project uses Black & Veatch’s PRICO® technology to liquefy LNG storage tank boil-off gas. Black & Veatch provided services from project design and engineering through facility start-up.
The project was built and tested 21 months after Black & Veatch was awarded the project by Cameron LNG. The rapid timeline includes the initial selection of PRICO® through the successful completion of performance testing. In addition, Black & Veatch provided technical support to the client for the authorizations provided by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
“The successful use of PRICO® technology at the Cameron LNG Boil-off gas terminal further diversifies Black & Veatch’s LNG solutions portfolio,” said Dale Williams, Project Director within Black & Veatch’s Oil & Gas business. “The cost-effective reliquefaction of boil-off gas can provide significant operating advantages by eliminating gas send-out during periods of unfavorable market conditions.”
Construction of the Cameron LNG facility was performed by Overland Contracting Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Black & Veatch.
