Recently, CWind has placed an order for a second CWhisper SWATH, an innovative 19.5m composite workboat designed and built by CTruk. The design objectives of CWhisper were to dramatically improve the comfort of technicians transiting out to offshore wind farms.
Motions are approximately a quarter of those of conventional catamarans, significantly increasing the current wave height limits for technician transfer. She is also extremely cost-effective, with a measured fuel consumption of less than 100 litres per hour at 20 knots.
