RasGas Company Limited’s (RasGas) second dedicated liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, ‘Milaha Ras Laffan,’ set sail last Monday from Qatar to Yung An, Taiwan on its 100th delivery voyage. Upon its arrival at Yung An on 8th June 2013, ‘Milaha Ras Laffan’ will have shipped almost 13,613,720 million cubic metres of LNG. This will be a major milestone event for both RasGas and the vessel.

“Milaha Ras Laffan” delivered RasGas’ first ever cargo shipment to Barcelona in May 2004 and has since travelled almost 1,000,000 nautical miles delivering LNG cargoes from Ras Laffan to RasGas’ customers across the globe. Her voyages include trips to Barcelona, Cartagena, Sagunto, Huelva, Incheon, Tong Yeong, Dahej, Hazira, Senboku, Futtsu, Zeebrugge, Murgados, Rovigo, Yung An, Taichung, Guanabara bay, and South Hook.

“RasGas has reached another significant milestone with the 100th loading of the Milaha Ras Laffan. It further underscores RasGas’ ability to meet our customers’ needs across the globe. This milestone is the result of the outstanding commitment to safety and reliability from everyone involved in the supply chain. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one for their contributions towards this milestone,” said Captain Iain Scally, RasGas Shipping Manager.

“Milaha Ras Laffan,” built by Samsung Heavy Industries Co Ltd of 647-9 Yoksam-Dong, Kangnam-ku, Seoul, Korea, was delivered to RasGas on 27th April 2004.
