SmartATLANTIC Herring Cove Buoy Project Revealed (Canada)

Herring Cove is set to get an inshore weather buoy which will transmit high resolution weather and wave data to the Halifax Port Authority.

The federal and provincial governments agreed to fund the SmartATLANTIC Herring Cove Buoy Project in which Ottawa will invest $171,000, while the province will invest $150,000.

The buoy which is due to be deployed in September or October will be manufactured by AXYS Technologies Inc.

The data from the first out of three planned buoys will be available next summer.
