Yesterday, Alicat Workboats reached a milestone as they successfully completed the 30th vessel lift using their new 200T Wise travel hoist.
Only opened 76 days ago, at opening day on 24th April 2013, the lift has now averaged one lift every 2.5 days since it opened.
This latest vessel was the Kings Lynn based tug Conservator, and is another example of the variety of vessels opting to use the Great Yarmouth based facility.
The lift has been hugely popular from the start, with a mixture of workboats, fishing boats, survey vessels, leisurecraft and tugs already having used the yard for fast turnaround repair work or just a washdown. With a further nine vessels booked in before the end of July, the huge investment to transform the facility into a state of the art repair facility looks a shrewd one.
