J+S Secures Support Contract for Navy Ships and Submarines

J+S Ltd have been awarded a £6 million contract by Thales UK to provide a continuation of the in-service support for winch equipment and pre determined through put of towed array sonar equipment for the Royal Navy.

The joint project will provide a decade of maintenance and repair for 17 different systems across the Royal Navy fleet, including the Astute, Trafalgar and Vanguard Classes of submarines as well as the Type 45 warships, Type 23 frigates and the Hunt and Sandown Classes of mine hunting vessels.

J+S Ltd Defence Director Paul Parsons said; “This is a very important contract for us and illustrates J+S’s unique capability to provide specialist technical advice and support to the defence industry on an ongoing basis”.

Phil Jones, Director for Customer Services and Support for Thales UK’s naval business added ; “ J+S have supported Thales over the past 12 years under previous contractor logistic support contracts for the Royal Navy, we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with J+S over the next decade”.
