Global supplier of fluid transfer systems, FES International, has secured a contract to supply two Diverless Bend Stiffener Connector (DBSC) units for the Kizomba Satellites Phase 2 development located about 95 miles off the Angolan shore, West Africa.
The £277,000 order from Oceaneering International is to be manufactured at FES’s facility in Northumberland, UK and is due to be complete by December 2013.
Exxon Mobil, began work at the Kizomba Satellites in Block 15 in 2008. The Kizomba fields have an estimated 250 million oil barrels production potential.
The Automatic DBSCs will be used to connect the Umbilical Bend Stiffener to the floating, production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. It will provide an intervention-less subsea installation and will not require the involvement of divers or ROV.

FES International currently has over 150 DBSC units in operation across the globe including off the coast of West Africa, Australia, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and the North Sea.
