On the morning of August 5, the steel cutting ceremony of conversion project for container ships “CONDOR” and “CORSAR” was grandly held in Hull Workshop of Xinrong Shipyard.
The vessels of the “CONDOR” and “CORSAR”, with the construction periods of 36 days and 33 days, is to enter the yard in about October and November for lengthening conversion. The project of the 880TEU containership “CONDOR” (140.73 M in LOA, 23.2 M in breadth, and 11.51 M in depth), includes the installation of a new mega block about 420 tons and 17 meters in the cargo hold area, which updates the ship to be 1025 TEU, new building of the main deck hatch cover (oil cylinder type), the extension work for the mechanical & electrical systems, as well as cables connections.
As the first cooperation between Xinrong Shipyard and Winter Reederei GmbH & Co KG, the conversion projects for both vessels are expected to be successfully completed, and to pave way for further cooperation.
