Azerbaijan’s national oil company Socar has informed that works on rectifying the consequences of the accident that took place at platform #90 the Bulla-Deniz field were continued on September 11.
The required facilities brought from abroad have been installed on “Shirvan” vessel. The cooling of the platform is carried out uninterruptedly with the help of “Whirlwind” and “Caspian Support” vessels. Besides, cooling lines are let down to the platform from the pumps installed on “Barra” ship. Clearing the territory of the platform around the emergency well is underway.
The incident on the Bulla Deniz gas field, located near the Bulla Island in the Bay of Baku, Caspian Sea, took place during drilling operations at the No 90 exploration well.
The field was the largest gas discovery in Azerbaijan before discovery of the Shah Deniz gas field.
