Kongsberg Maritime Ltd has developed an innovative new app to support courses offered at its Westhill training centre, streamlining the booking process for delegates and allowing them to organise training on the go.

The new app will enable trainees to book courses remotely on mobile devices, making the booking process more user-friendly, accessible and efficient. All Aberdeen-based training courses will be available through the app, including recently launched courses, K-Chief 600 and the Kongsberg Networks course.

It will support the growing demand for all courses at Thermoplyae House in Westhill, where specialist in training courses are available in marine automation, dynamic positioning, and subsea positioning systems.

Operations supervisor, Kerry Johnston , comments, “The launch of the new training centre app is a really exciting development for us. We have seen significant growth in demand for all Aberdeen-based courses, and believe that the new app will give delegates a more accessible, user friendly way to book courses. We hope that the busy delegates who attend our courses will find that they are able to make bookings on the go, saving them a lot of time.

“We anticipate increased demand over the next quarter with the addition of the two new courses, K-Chief 600 and Kongsberg Networks, to our portfolio. It’s an exciting time for our training centre in Aberdeen, and if the interest in the training courses continues as expected, we would hope to recruit new training instructors to meet demand.”

While the training centre provides a range of industry-standard courses for the marine offshore sector, the centre is also equipped to offer bespoke courses to meet specific requirements.

Kongsberg Maritime Ltd now runs between five and 10 courses throughout the week, with the number of attendees often reaching 50 per week.

Kongsberg Maritime Ltd is the UK division of Kongsberg Maritime and is a key player in vessel positioning, marine automation, survey and ROV instrumentation.
