Mainstream Renewable Power will survey the 30km-long cable route with the survey vessel MV Coastal Discovery.
The underwater cable will connect to the onshore National Grid connection at Crystal Rig in the Lammermuirs.
This survey is expected to be completed in the next two weeks.
