“Global Challenges, Smart Solutions” is the Netherland’s chosen motto for its Partner Country showcase at HANNOVER MESSE 2014 this coming April. The motto was announced by the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Lilianne Ploumen, during yesterday’s official signing of the Partner Country agreement in The Hague.

“ Germany stands for quality backed by a solid, top-performing industrial base; and the Netherlands stand for innovation powered by smart solutions to technical challenges. At HANNOVER MESSE, our two nations are combining their strengths in order to enhance their international competiveness ,” Ms. Ploumen said.

Looking ahead to April next year, the early signs are that the Netherlands will have a big presence at HANNOVER MESSE. “ There has been quite a run on registrations for HANNOVER MESSE 2014 by Dutch companies ,” said Dr. Jochen Köckler , a member of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe, the organizer of HANNOVER MESSE. “ It’s still about another six months until the fair opens, but we are already noticing a marked increase in booked exhibition space. All up, we are expecting to lease twice the normal amount of display space to Dutch exhibitors. The number of Dutch exhibitors is also likely to be up significantly. ”

The most recent directly comparable event is HANNOVER MESSE 2012, which saw 80 Dutch companies exhibiting on 2,200 square meters (about 23,680 sq. ft.) of display space.

Köckler : “ The Netherlands’ mechanical engineering sector is enjoying steady growth and is made up predominantly of highly specialized small and medium enterprises. The country also has an extremely competitive industrial subcontracting sector which supplies components, modules and made-to-order solutions to customers all around the world. Exhibitors and visitors seeking cooperative ventures with Dutch companies in these sectors will be extremely well positioned to do so at HANNOVER MESSE. ”

The motto “Global Challenges, Smart Solutions” signals that the Netherlands will be using the upcoming HANNOVER MESSE to showcase pioneering solutions to the industrial challenges of the future. With a central Partner County pavilion in Hall 3 and a suite of national pavilions dotted around the exhibition venue, the Netherlands will have a strong presence in all of HANNOVER MESSE’s main theme areas.
