UK’s Energy Minister to Open Wave & Tidal 2014

RenewableUK has announced that The Rt Hon Gregory Barker MP, Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change will be giving the keynote address at Wave & Tidal 2014 in Belfast.

Gregory was elected Conservative MP in Sussex in June 2001 and served on the House of Commons Environmental Audit select committee between 2001 and 2005. He was appointed to the opposition front bench as a Conservative Whip in 2003.

Gregory served as Shadow Minister for the Environment from 2005 to 2008, where he led the led the passage of the Climate Change Bill for the Opposition through the House of Commons, and as Shadow Minister for Climate Change between 2008 and 2010. He was appointed Minister of State for DECC in May 2010.
