Dandara has today confirmed the £3.82million sale of a major new office and industrial premises in Aberdeenshire, to IKM Property (UK) a company within the IKM Group.

The 22,500sq.ft facility, at Westhill Business Park, will be occupied by IKM Testing (UK) Ltd for its Aberdeen International Division headquarters. Construction of the high specification office, workshop and yard facility is underway and is due to be handed over to IKM in March 2014.

Neil Young , commercial development director at Dandara, said: “IKM was looking for a high spec property in a key business location for oil and gas, and Westhill has become a prime location for service companies in this sector. This development follows on from our successful letting to Bibby Offshore Ltd in the same development area. We now plan to release a further 3.1 acres on Peregrine Road and we are reassured that our dedication to delivering high quality properties will be met with strong demand from the market.”

Dandara is also currently developing the City South site which lies five miles south of Aberdeen and is a 40-acre park. The development will feature office facilities, as well as offering potential future hotel development land.

It is also set to invest more than £20million into The former Triple Kirks, which has been derelict since the 1970s. The site, rebranded The Point, will boast in excess of 72,600sq.ft of grade A office space in the city centre.

Mark Rasmusen , Director – International Division, at IKM said: “This new facility will allow IKM to consolidate its existing properties in Aberdeen in an easily accessible location. The high specification facility will allow us to continue our growth with larger office, workshop and yard space incorporating a training facility and designated test bay”.

“Investment in the new facility confirms IKM’s commitment to the UK market, not just to clients but to our employees. We look forward to holding an Open Day once operational to showcase the new facilities”.

“Dandara has been very helpful and we look forward to moving in next year.”

Graham & Sibbald advised IKM Property UK in the acquisition of the property.
